Ahhhhh American Soil!
Hey everyone,
Just thought I would let you know that some luck came my way a few weeks ago and they decided that I had served my time and as of Sunday i landed at Miramar in a chartered 767 after a mere 25 hours of travel and 7 months of sand.
Thank you everyone for all the info you have given me and now that i am back with my plane i am looking forward to putting all i have learned to practice. Also thank you all for the packages you sent out to me, i recieved many and it was not only appreciated by me, but all of the others as well. After I read them i donated them to the Camp Fallujah library for others to enjoy for time to come.
Side note....i bought stick and rudder the other day (book) and am about to read it...any reviews before i start?

Thanks everyone...i just completed my 96 (for non military it is 4 days off) and had a great time. I hung out with my wife and my dog and went to a few of the restaurants we used to frequent and had some of my favorite home cooked meals and the usual things I have missed. On the first day my wife had to work since i have been home i went up and enjoyed 1.3 in the 7GCAA after .2 dual in the pattern to ensure i was still safe. The flight went well despite a slight 12kt crosswind. My landings were sad compared to where i was before i left but no bounces just not greasers but they never are when you want them to be anyway. Today was my first day back at work, a strenuous day of going in at 0630 and finishing up at 1015. They really ease us back after a deployment with 4 days off and then 5 days of half days and then a 20 day guaranteed leave block so its nice.
As soon as my VA paperwork goes through this week i will continue where i left off and finish my mel and my commercials and just enjoy flying in the west with my wife. If anyone finds themselves in the socal area send me a pm and maybe we will get together for a beer or something.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and thank you for the past help and information you have given me and thanks for the future info you will have for me as i start the career.
