Do many of you use electronic logbooks? Does it make 8710's ubr easier and more importantly, Airline Apps...if ya've done it then ya know what I'm talking about. It takes a minute or so to categorize flight time for the first time when setting up an airline apps profile.
Any good e-logs?
Bad e-logs?
success stories?
horror stories?

I have Logbook Pro, and I have no complaints about it. It works perfectly for me. Some other guys on here have custom Excel spreadsheets that they use. It all comes down to personal preference, really.
It's like talking about motor oil... Everyone's going to have their own opinion

APC has a number of Excel based logbooks and other resources kindly placed there by our founders HSLD and FreightDog. Personally, I use a self-made logbook based on Excel that does what I need. I do not have a ton of Excel skill but perhaps more than average since I use it to do airplane analysis. It is not that hard to come up with something of your own design given some time and patience. I think it is better to design your own logbook.
Paper logbooks will always be the standard for applications for certificates and ratings. I see electronic as merely a way of verifying paper log totals and plucking out needed data for special purposes. This is why you may wish to cook up your own. No electronic logbook can do everything, there will always be some odd question like how many hours have you logged in airplane X in the last X number of days, and you can set the spreadsheet to pull that info out instantly.

I use LogTen Pro. Best thing I've ever done. It keeps track of my duty day, alerts to 30/7 violations and I can put in the times leg by leg in my iPhone and sync with my computer when I get home. I highly recommend it.
LogTen Pro can produce actual 8710's and also has an AirlineApps chart it will produce among others.
