I was flying on Delta today and was served a nice refreshing can of Coke. But, when I looked at the can, it looked a little different, the Coke was made in Japan. I would expect to see this can of Coke on the Asian routes, but I was Domestic.
I guess my question is for the Delta guys. Do they serve Coke made in America on the Asian routes now? It may be nothing, but I doubt any passengers on the Asian routes would drink it and maybe thats why they put it on the Domestic routes. After all, the nuclear meltdown isn't in the Domestic news anymore, but it is still going on in Japan. Also, how much do you trust managment to make sure they are looking out for the passengers and flight crews health over the almighty dollar?

Really, what's not to love?
Also, awesome thread title.
It was like, well, I wonder where this is going!

You must not have been out of the USA too much. When the catering companies reconcile the soda can trays, they don't look and say "oh this is a U.S. Coke" and put that on a U.S. flight, a Coke can is a Coke can. That happens sometimes, catering gets mixed around, especially soda cans, from all over the world. Coke from outside the U.S. is better anyway, it's sweetened with real sugar and not that nasty, way too sweet, way too bad for you high fructose corn syrup. Japanese Coke is especially good, and yes, you may get a U.S. Coke can on an Asian route, or you might end up with one from the U.K. when flying from SEA to SLC. I will take my chances on a Japanese Coke over what high fructose corn syrup does to your pancreas.

The Coke I get overseas is sugar based. Too bad the US keeps using this garbage!

I do the Coke Zero in the US.
However, you would have to get most of the country to stop buying Coke and wait for the change over. Not going to happen. This includes Pepsi.
Although there are some drinks (including popular soda's) out there that are using Sugar again - yes in the USA.
