Question Dissapointed

I have Type 1 Diabetes and I found out that I can only receive a Class 3 medical . I've always wanted to fly for a commercial airline. What can I do with a Class 3 Medical? Is there anything I can do to get at least a Class 2 Medical? thanks for the help

well, for starters you can be a flight instructor, banner towing maybe. You may be able to get some part 91 gig as SIC in a citation. Not sure though. Have you tried jumping through the hopes to try for a 1st class. Not sure about the restrictions but, I had a student get diagnosed with high blood sugar borderline diabetics and he lost his Med. He will be getting it back. They put him on pills and proved to be able to control it so he is in the long process of getting it back.

even to be a CFI or banner tower, you need to be a commercial pilot and commercial pilot you need to have class II

For commercial operations you need a 2nd class, but for the purposes of training and acquiring certs a 3rd will do. CFIs only need a 3rd.

Youl only need to have a second class medical to operate with the privilages of a commercial pilot. Flight instruction is exempt from this status as you are operating as a flight instructor, not a commercial pilot.

I didn't know they gave FAA physicals to 14 year old boys in Lebanon. Are you just trying to get your 25 posts in so that you can use the search function?

That is correct. To be a flight instructor you only need a 3rd class medical. There are even times when you don't even need a medical at all to flight instruct; as long as the student is properly rated in the aircraft and is able to act as PIC.

"So chill out".lol...

hassan, L2B does make a good point. You are scattered around this place. I thought you were going to come to the states, join the USAF then go to the heavies.
