Yeah, while not supporting his lack of judgement in this situation, it's a bad deal all around. Hopefully we don't get a Marion Blakey back in that seat.

Remember last April?

In the wake of yet another case this week of an air traffic controller asleep on the job, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) official in charge of operating the nation's air traffic control system has resigned.


In a statement on the FAA's website, FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt says he met today with the official, Hank Krakowski, head of the FAA's Air Traffic Organization, and accepted his resignation.

Tried and convicted in the press. Deprived of his due process by ignorant mobs.

We'll be lucky to get someone with half of his ability or who cares half as much about the plight of the airline pilot as Babbitt. Truly a sad day on many levels.

You know how a CEO stepping down to "spend more time with their family" is a euphemism for getting fired? My guess is that's it's not too different in this case.
