"Nominate". Not "draft". I'd love to see him do it, but only if he truly wanted the position.
I do think he would particularly excel at it. Unfortunately, thanks to our wonderful beauracracy, we'll see an otherwise useless politician stuck in the position if I had to imagine. Someone who will drive the FAA aimlessly until someone else can take his place.

I think Sully would be great, but I doubt the ATA Lobby will allow it.
They are the ones who PAY the Politicians (think re-election campaign contributions) who would have to vote on it.
They are probably the same Lobbiests who took Randy out for dinner the other night and put -something- in his drink to block the new FTDT regs...

Additionally, Sully doesn't have any executive management experience that I know of.

In truth, I'm told Sullenberger has a pretty high IQ - so there's no way he'd take the job.
One of Dan Akroyd or Bill Murray's characters would be a better fit.
