One I always go back to; To Kill a Mockingbird. Good job on the Screenplay making the movie.

Second on East of Eden. Add Cat on a Hot Tin Roof as well. These both came up a little short on the movie versions though.

They left one primary character out of East of Eden movie entirely; Lee, the Chinese-American cook and housekeeper for the Trask family.

I liked both the Freakonomics books... they're humorous and get you thinking, at the least.

Most often I read non-fiction adventure "Resolute", "Adrift", "Into Thin Air" are some of my favs in that category. 'Unbroken' has been mentioned several times and that's a very good read as well.
