Respect the Mountain
Damn near lost one of my idols:
Pictures of his injuries here. Note to Mods: This belongs in Hangar Talk, probably, but I put it here for shameless exposure :D |
Yep, and that's where it is now. Your quest for a permanent redirect in the regional section was successful. :D
My contribution: |
I remember seeing an interview with him on the news maybe a month ago about it. His drive to get back into doing it was amazing.
I never really got an idea of the speeds these guys get going until watching his videos. Got me back into skydiving and hopefully eventually into trying that. |

He's lucky to have escaped with so little harm done (two broken ankles, a broken fibula, a torn ACL, a massive gash in his shin which they had to use skin grafts to close). Man, I'm chomping at the bit to get my USPA license. Never been skydiving but I've sworn to before I hit 2,000 posts here on APC. |
Wasn't he planning on using a wingsuit to land on a ramp without a parachute in the near future?
|
When I first saw this I thought he impacted his chest against the mountain. I thought he's dead from internal bleeding.
Lucky son of a gun. |

A quick question bout wingsuits.. If the aspect ratio of the wing was increased it would result in a lower stall speed and a shallower glide slope.. So why isn't this done.
My theory is the strength of the wing root [your shoulder] would not carry the increased weight. not a deep question, i realise... I've just always wondered.. Cheers |
