  • Please let us know a little about yourself - your experience, hours logged, what you fly, type ratings, position, goals in aviation, etc.
  • If you want to protect your anonymity, you can say something like, "I am a first officer at a major American airline", i.e., you don't have to name names if you don't want. We recommend that you not reveal your full name or email address.
  • After you've introduced yourself, the Pilot Lounge and Career Builder forums will open up to you.
  • After you've been registered for 3 days with 5 non-deleted posts, you'll be able to see and post in the rest of the forums, as well as send private messages (PMs).

I have a little over ATP minimums and just got a new 121 job that I have come to try and get info about. I have flown mostly 172s and Seminoles in the Western US.

Hello BushSlayer,

I'm in Alaska (ANC) too. I'm a contract instructor for the Air Force on Elmendorf and am trying to get my Commercial complete. I was flying at UAA, but the flight department has mondo problems; I'm switching to the EDF Aeroclub, and have to wait for my VA paperwork to go through... maybe by August it'll be complete. Tell everyone to steer clear of flying at UAA.

Compulsory posting

I've been visiting Airline Pilot Central for years, and decided today to join the forum.

I'm in Alaska (ANC) and am a contract sim instructor for the Air Force on the E-3 AWACS. I am also working on completing my Commercial and Advanced Ground Instructor certificate. I have been flying at the University of Alaska Anchorage since February of 2012, but last week I told them "I quit." The University has some significant problems with aircraft availability and administration. If you're looking to get ratings done in a timely manner it's not there!

I'm looking for overseas opportunities (southwest Asia) as a ground instructor with an airline.
