Question Flightinfo.com

Hi

Newbie here and trying to gather information and learn as much as I can about expat flying. Lurking mostly in the foreign section.

I am almost done reading the whole "Foreign" section of this forum and kudos to contributors and mods that do an amazing job keeping it informative, fun and free of clutter.

A lot of great info on pprune but going through the forum there is "one step forward, two steps back", a lot of weeding out to get little info.

Jetcareers doesnt have lot of info on foreign carriers and expat flying.

Recently came to know about Flightinfo.com Hangar and its "foreign" section looks promising but it is a paid subscription site. I would like to hear what your experience is regarding that site and the foreign section.

Thank you

p.s. Mods feel free to move this post to where it would be suitable

APC is not huge on expat or foreign topics, and while they are certainly welcome, PPrune is where we generally send people for that.

Longtime FI member here. I'd never pay for that website. YMMV.

In fairness, Flightinfo's "subscription" is a one-time fee to mitigate trolls as well as one person posting with multiple handles. That said, the level of moderation isn't as up to snuff as it is here on APC.

^ Give this guy a raise! I too feel APC manages a tidier environment than many other sites in most areas, though we are always looking to improve. Another factor is we are a tad smaller, which enables better control of the weeds when they happen to pop up.

Go to FI if you want to say anything. And I mean anything. Say something a bit out of line and you'd better have thick skin because that place is the "youtube comments" of the aviation forum world.

I suppose some boards are better for venting than others. APC really does not really allow it, at least not in a coarse way. In the end though, venting really should be dealt with constructively and personally, not by posting reckless comments in public. Beat up the paperboy, for example.

What? Somebody mention FI? It's been posted on APC before, but this is STILL funny. It'd be great if somebody could update it for the most recent events in the airline industry;

ha! I'd forgotten about that. "The more things change, the more Mesa still sucks."
