There will be a shortage at the regionals, I don't think places like Delta, Southwest, Fed Ex will have a hard time finding pilots.

This is true. What's happening at pinnacle and comair are valid points but someone is going to eventually get that flying and at the same time I've heard some of the comair guys are getting out of the industry.

I think this is true. And the shortage of applicants at Regionals will create leverage to bring the RJs back to Mainline.

ABC never states who "the expert" is. Media experts can be simply just a rated pilot sometimes on crash or incident news interviews.

There is no pilot shortage.
There is going to be a shortage of people that are willing to invest the time and money to do this job though.

The airlines have degraded the industry to a point where it is going to backfire on them. I'm just glad I'm going to be around to see it.
