Interesting. Just a few questions for the French engineers and firemen.

Why did you think it was OK to taxi so soon after the abort?
Why are you acting so surprised when the wheel plugs blow? OK, so why are you continued to be surprised when all the rest of them blow?
Is that water you are spraying on the brakes? Why is it dribbling out of the hose so you need to be 10 feet away? Did it occur to you to fight the fire from trucks using high pressure foam so your firemen don't get hurt walking up to exploding tires?

If this tape shows me anything, it's stay away from those tires if they are hot.

LOL , I had to laugh at that first fireman too (aka Dribble). I guess the engineers thought it would be a good practical joke not to tell the CFR crew the failure mode of the fuse plugs.

HAHA! What a crazy dude! That was quite funny seeing that guy jumping around the place. And that water hose, I mean he could have pi$$ed on those tires and he would have had more pressure! Nice video by the way!

Coulda been better had the fireman put more than 10 seconds of water on the thing.

Bingo. Not long ago there was a United 737 RTO in Denver. If I recall correctly, all but one of the mains blew, and one of them blew quite a while after the RTO.

Part of the certification requirement is that the airplane has to be able to taxi for 5 minutes after the RTO is completed.

If this tape shows me anything, it's to stay away from whatever airport this is. I would hate to have a *real* emergency requiring the 'expertise' of the local CRFF's.

I had a couple UPS 747s divert to STL a couple years ago because of TS. About 20 minutes after they landed I was fueling one when the fuse plugs started blowing out. I don't remember the exact number, but I think there were something like 4 tires that blew and it sat on the echo pad for a couple days while they flew tires and equipment up here to replace the flats.

Scared the crap out of me when those things started going.

Interesting that the center gear blew out before the mains. There are no brakes on the center gear if I remember correctly. Show how much heat is built up just by moving a few hundred tons on the wheels.
