Default Ipad or other tablet

Hey Im looking at finally buying an ipad or other tablet. Im looking for advice, should i get a ipad or an ipad mini or another tablet all together. It does seem like apple rules the day. Also is 16GB enough or should I look at something with more memory? Thanks yall

It all depends on what you want to do with it. 16GB might be a little thin. I think the other brands have caught up on the technology, now it's just the Apple logo that costs so much more. FaceTime is nice though.

Of course, it's just my opinion.

I've got an ipad, and it is nice, but I only recently learned you can't download software to it...only apps.

I thought my battery was dead a month ago and found out....you can't change it yourself...have to take it to an Apple repair station. (Wasn't dead, just got discharged overnight somehow).

I've seen ads on TV for the Microsoft version. Cheaper, can attach to a keyboard if you want, and I would guess, can do all the other stuff I can do on a home computer.

I think if I had to do it over, I'd try the Microsoft one. At the least, I'd be willing to try it out.

I am happy with an Ipad 4 purchase a year ago. At the time, I felt the screen resolution was the best and also, you don't have to worry about viruses with Apple products.

I use the new 2013 Google Nexus 7 in the cockpit. Super lightweight, full 1080p screen, 32gb internal storage, good battery life. Runs my aviation/nav apps wonderfully. Very fast and reliable for me. The 7 inch screen is a good compromise for being large enough to be easily readable and small enough to not hog space on the panel/dash. Have a simple suction based articulating mount for the cockpit. I love it and would recommend it.

Pretty good price too, @ about $269 for the 32gb model.

I'd go with the 32 gb or higher with the iPad. But if you plan on using it when not in air and like to download movies and what not than go with the 64.
