I think people have sued the US carriers a number of times. If I recall Southwest has actually let it go to court rather than settling and won a number of times.
Hey little fella. I am 6'5" and 225 pounds. 8% body fat. I promise you don't want to sit next to me in steerage. We need to fix the problem. I agree with you about the lard asses. However the seats don't accomadate an AMS return worth a ****. The Dutch are a lot bigger than Americans and we don't charge them more. We need to fix the situation and make the seats bigger and more expensive. Especially on the longer flights. What do you think?

I wouldn't have a problem sitting next to you. It's the people that spill over into my seat that I have a problem with. At that height/weight you're probably not in that category.

I do feel for you when it comes to legroom however.
