Not sure if this is the helmet or not (didn't look at the link yet) but a co-worker just got a nice tour of the F-35 Training Wing and he said the helmet was $500,000! And I used to worry about the ANVIS-9 NVGs!!
YIKES!

No matter the cost and gizmos.....I bet it is highly uncomfortable after a 5+ hr mission.

Cool gadget though!

A guy with a Beavis and Butthead gif avatar chiming in on a "Helmet" thread, coincidence?

Like everything else about the F-35, the helmet is overpriced, behind schedule, doesn't work as advertised, and is unnecessary for killing a terrorist with an AK-47 in a Toyota pickup-truck.

But Lockheed made sure that every Congressman's and Senator's district in America builds some component of the JSF, no matter how small, so no one will dare vote against it.
