Assuming true and not something that was just "heard", how the hell does that come up in an interview in the FIRST PLACE?

There was girl at one of my former employers that had just about EVERY part of her pierced. You know, the top, the hoo hoo, multiple holes in here ear, etc. She was hired at UAL.

I would agree with that. But it's also one of those things that just because somebody gets them, DON'T expect the world to change JUST BECAUE THEY DID IT. Especially in this job that's still relatively conservative.

In that case Hoss, just show her this. And make sure to point out to her the purple (and MAYBE green) coding connotation for location.

What if I walked into a major airline interview with a tat of their logo on my forearm? I mean, they would HAVE to hire me, right?

I just searched the envoy fm and it didn't return a hit on tattoo, and I looked through the uniform section, nothing. Ours is almost a copy paste of aa and I've seen one aa guy on the bus in lga with a forearm tattoo.

So much for dad's wisdom about doctors not having tattoos!
Even so, you ought to steer her into dermatology. I foresee a bright future in tattoo removal in the years ahead.

Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but I maintain that everyone who gets a visible tattoo will miss out on at least one significant opportunity (employment, potential relationship, blood donation, etc) in their lifetime because of it.

Maybe that's because envoy hiring teams nip it in the bud during the interview process.

Thanks for the input guys. For anyone that wants to know "why", my response would be, for the same reason that you have hobbies that I probably can't stand. For the same reason that you eat a food that I may not be able to stomach. Because I like them and find it to be an awesome form of art. I did think my whole life through when getting it and realized that in a worst case scenario, I can wear long sleeves. I did get it when I was in the Navy and won't ever regret it. I also realize that there are other opinions on the matter and I respect those. One thing is for sure and that is that it will never come up in an interview.

That's the problem with the "World". Everyone thinks they need to please the "World". Having tattoos has nothing to do with the "World" because the "World" is not getting the tattoos nor are they affected by my tattoos. So if the "World" just stayed out of it then there wouldn't be a problem at all. Now according to your chart, I do have to say that I did fall under the red a couple different times. That would have been when I was getting tax-free pay in the blistering hot middle eastern part of the "World" serving my country.
