Looking for my father to buy a Hyundai Genesis newest model. Trying to find specific color/package but avoiding local dealership since their bulbs don't shine too bright and stock limited in their small town.
Anyone have any suggestions of using a national service that is used to dealing with airline folks who can nonrev to get a deal or better options?
I am familiar with the Ford programs but anything with Hyundai?

I think Consumers Union (Consumers Reports) has a service where you specify what car you want in gory detail, and they get the invoice for you so you can shop it around to dealers and get prices rather than play the shell games on new car lots. The car would have to be built for you, or already exist somewhere else and you have it shipped to a local dealer or go and get it. Obviously the deal is not as good if you have to drive the car thousands of miles to get it home, but within a few hundred miles it is probably a useful technique. At any rate I recommend CR for advice on car buying.

Simply input the various zip codes you're willing to fly to and search by models and specific options packages.
I know you said you're buying, but for those who lease and need a crash course on the best available lease deals, go to this link at edmunds and enter whatever you are looking to lease in the search function. Example "Lexus GS 350 Lease".
Review the last 2-6 months or so posts to get a feel of what's currently going on, then ask any specific model, option package and mileage question. Within a day or two, someone in the know will chime in.

I shopped nationwide for my last car by using car enthusiast forums to find the favorite dealers. I then shopped that best price plus my cost of shipping ($500) to the local dealers. All but one told me no way, one got the sale. They didn't have the car locally and the ordering process took about 3 weeks. It was a bit easier to do the deal locally for me, but I was willing to travel.
