I've heard good things about TV Guardian. According to the website, they're "Currently Sold Out." You might find them in retail stores.

I vote for "Dr. Strangelove". Heard a couple interesting items about making the movie: 1) Peter Sellers was originally going to play the B-52 pilot, Maj. "King" Kong (in addition to his other three parts), but he injured a leg and couldn't do the climbing around the role required, so they hired Slim Pickens, who was perfect. 2) Kubrick originally envisioned the movie as a serious thriller, but said: "We found ourselves having to throw out a lot of great stuff because it was too funny, so we realized that the film would have to be a "black comedy".

What a great movie. I'd love to see the stuff left on the cutting room floor.

No, Top Gun is not as funny as Airplane, but it is close. Sad, because it's not supposed to be funny.

Guys. Sometimes I just feel like I'm not a true American because I haven't seen movies I've always heard about. Well today during a studybreak I was flipping through channels and saw a movie called The Good, the Bad, the Ugly. It was just starting so I figured I'd watch it for a bit.

I just got home after going to Wal-Mart to buy the DVD. I'm sure a lot of you have seen it but if you haven't, even if you hate westerns, get this bad boy cuz there's two kind of people in life......

I'd second the Dr. Strangelove - it's one of my favorites. If you'd like another movie from the same generation (same year, in fact) and also about about nuclear war (although decidedly less comedic), I would recommend Fail-Safe. More recently, I absolutely loved Little Miss Sunshine. And tonight I just watched The Departed, which is quite good also.

I enjoyed Blood Diamond - not because of its graphic nature but because it should be a wake up call!
