Good point.

Besides that, pilots prove all the time that having control of the FMC doesn't necessarily mean you have guaranteed control of where the airplane is actually going.

"What's it doing?"

"Where's it going?"

"Why is it doing that?"

"Are we going to make that?"

"I thought we were..."

"You might want to slow down..."

"Add drag it says, no wait, remove drag it says"

"There it goes again."

Truth is they'll never be able to hack the MD90/88 FMC. Ever. it might launch a reverse attack.

And if they hack the 717... please install a green arc. Thx.

Or the 727 --- might as well try to hack a Union Pacific 4-8-8-4.

Hmmmm...

Fearing United plane was hacked, FBI pulls security expert off flight - Apr. 17, 2015

"Roberts said he eventually tested out the theory himself 15 to 20 times on actual flights. He'd pull out his laptop, connect it to the box underneath his seat, and view sensitive data from the avionics control systems.

"I could see the fuel rebalancing, thrust control system, flight management system, the state of controllers," he said."
