He probably would have been better leaving them in the cockpit. He was in conformance of U.S. law as an FFDO on a CONUS Flight. I'd bet German Authorities wouldn't have a problem with it as he as an FFDO never attempted or intended to introduce the prohibited item into the Country and the fact that the A/C was scheduled to RTB CONUS.

The mistake is easy enough to understand. But it doesn't matter what the actual mistake was in many cases. It's HOW you handle it afterwards that can make all the difference. Read the FIRST POST.

True and I'm not defending this guy, even though it might have sounded like it. I'm just not going to kick somebody when they're down is all. Maybe cap'em in the head, but not kick them. I'm sure he has enough problems as a result of this already.
