Best I can say about "american lagers" like BW and Coors is that they are "beer inspired beverages". They are so far removed from what is actually beer in parts of the world like Europe that I liken them to what wine coolers are to wine. When they started brewing with rice and ultra-filtering to make it as "refreshing" as possible, it became more of a drink to "quench thirst" than enjoy for what it is and in that case, I like cold water better for that.

Macrobreweries like AB and Sam Adams making "craft beer" is like Wendy's and their "artisan chicken sandwich".
