I found these rare and amazing photos showing Curtiss P-40 Warhawk on the deck or operating on aircraft carriers. There was a naval version of this fighter? To see the photos, visit the link below:

Those are some great photos!
During Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa in October 1942, P-40's were ferried to a position off the coast of North Africa. They were then flown off the decks of aircraft carriers on a one-way trip to airfields on land. They were not operated by the USN, but by the USAAF. They could not return to the carrier.

This thread made me search for this PBS Series on Carriers.
I still miss my old friend, calcapt.
And I'd still like to meet the APC fella who had those 900 traps under his belt! USMCFLYER is right, they were just regular traps, not night ones.
