Unhappy Ticket

So I was driving the other day with my brother and got pulled over by a cop for supposedly not making a complete stop at the light. Anyway when the cop came to the car he said he can smell marijuana and says give it to me I didn't have anything but my brother did he then gave me a ticket for possession while driving. I am only 18 and have never smoked in my life and this is my first ticket ever. I feel like my dreams of becoming an airline pilot are over so I don't know what to do I told the judge the same thing but he didn't believe me. It's just so unfair it was an infraction but still any good advice would be helpful thanks keep in mind that he didn't even write me up for the light the initil stop.

Save your money, hire a lawyer, did your brother go to court?

Supposedly not stopping? Either you stopped or you did not.

I know I made a complete stop unless I was over the line a little ? Either way I don't think it's right for him to have given me that ticket for possession when it wasn't even mine. And my brother did go but the judge said since I was the one driving I was the one responsible. I am just so upset that something like this could happen. Do you guys think the airliners might still give me a chance. It was an infraction like a traffic ticket basically I was 18 and I know I will not got any more tickets ever cause that one was just plain stupid.

Yes it is a hurtle you can overcome. Like anything else don't hide or lie about it. Again talk to a lawyer it is probably easier to fix now rather than later.

Now for your home work, Google why you should never talk to the police, it is about a 48 min YouTube presentation. Make sure your brother watches it.

Here you go: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc

Google it anyways, lots of good traffic stop advice.

Depending on your state, it is likely not a criminal act if they just gave you a ticket. But yes, talk to an attorney, and DON'T talk to the police again....ever.

Yea goid thing it was just an infraction but now I have to wait a whole year for any type of rating as I read in the FAR. Hopefully this doesn't prevent me from becoming an airline pilot in the future thanks for the advice.
