There are a couple crash pads by HA pilots close to the airport but not sure you’d want to do that 24/7 during training. Maybe something to figure out if you are going to commute. Good luck all and congratulations.

and beware of scams on CL I’ve heard.
Airbnb may be a monthly option though the state government just made anything less than 6 months illegal unless a resort area.

Do you have a contact info?
Still looking where to spend first few days. Hotels are damn expansive.

I may have some rooms opening up in the fall in Hawaii Kai, ~$1,200…PM me for details.

I jumped on an AirBnB outside of the city, closer to HQ the second I had a class date. Trust me when I say that if you stay downtown, the traffic in the mornings sucks and you'll wish you booked elsewhere.

I’ve got a beautiful home in Hawaii Kai on Mariners Ridge rented out on a room by room basis, 6 month minimum. Have 2 openings coming up. Plan is all HAL pilots. Has views, a private pool, and will be getting a renovated kitchen and new paint/flooring very soon. Already have a couple people interested. Should be around $1,200/month. PM me for details.

Wait, does Hawaiian not provide a hotel during training?? Even cheap a** regionals provide that. Thinking about applying and currently on the mainland. Would be next to impossible to get housing without going out there first and scoping it out, but there’s a 0% chance of getting enough time off to do so.

That's what the 10k bonus is for.

Do they give you the bonus before you start? Because that’s when it’d have to be in order to use it to find housing…

HAL does not provide a hotel during training because:

1. Everyone is based is HNL.
2. They haven’t had to since guys are showing up for classes.

You do get a hotel if you go for sim training at other locations besides HNL. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did start offering a hotel at HNL, but who knows when/if that will be. Don’t work here if you don’t plan on finding permanent housing. There aren’t too many crashpad type options, and reserve is always short-call.

Lol the regional I fly for got me a hotel for training even though I already lived 15 minutes from the training base. Crazy to think there's an airline who doesn't get you a hotel for training.

If I worked for Hawaiian I would certainly want to move to HNL but it would take me a while of actually being on the island to find a place. I have a wife and kids and won't get a place where I haven't personally been to, to scout out the area. That's not really possible while I'm working for a regional on the mainland. If they offered a hotel during training I could use my free time to find a permanent location for my family.
