Start class this next month and looking for month to month opportunities for myself prior to my wife showing up. (We have a house that’s on the market, completing the dog paperwork, etc.)
What do most folks do during training? Parents are in Kauai, but can’t commute during ground school. Should I try and lock something in through Craigslist or wait and see what classmates are doing?
Mahalo!

most classes have mostly locals and very few off islanders as you may already know, I’d guess I’d check with classmates if it were me, if there’s something on Craigslist like that and it’s month to month, that may be good. Make it close, Waikiki, Aiea, etc.

Hey Dinky.
I'm off island as well. My training starts August 1st. Still no idea 330/320/717.
When was your interview? Jul 7 by chance?
It's hard to go apartment hunting from the mainland.
Everyone want at least 12 month commitment for rent.
I'm thinking to get a hotel for first few days and try to find place near by.
Than there is a matter of transportation. Uber will bleed you dry. 😬

My interview was back in May, but I had some military stuff over the summer. I’ll be in the August 15th class. I’ll be arriving with some duffel bags and will be looking for a place to crash until I can find a more permanent spot to set up for when my wife gets over here. I’ve reached out to a couple people on Craigslist but nothing positive back yet. I’m thinking a scooter will be purchased soon after I get there. Can’t wait to see ya’ll there!
Was eyeballing a scooter as well but have enough rental car points to get thru training so will see how it goes.

Aug 15th class as well. Had some success off Craigslist and set up a 6 month room rental in a condo. Private room, private bath, washer/dryer in unit and a garage parking space at Waikiki.
