Lots of people made the move to Hawaii when they got hired. When covid hit, many moves back to the mainland to be closer to family and didn't plant many roots in Hawaii yet.

Fixed it for you. Sorry, lots of people that came from the free world didn't want to run the risk of arrest and/or felony charges from violating unconstitutional lock-down, masking and socialist distancing rules. Notice the covid police checkpoint is still in place going to the C-gates in HNL? All ready for NEXT TIME. There WILL be a NEXT TIME. Papers, please.

Not worried. Not going to get elected. 0% chance. Even if he did, established US case law regarding taxes will prevail. That darn outdated U.S. Constitution again. Dr. Lockdown will prevail and become the next supreme leader. He will keep everyone safe. At least the weather and surf is nice.

His push to make pilots not be able to be residents of tax free States pales in comparison to the stupidity of his Transportation Vaccine Legislation. It isn't surprising that Rep. Stalwell (d) CA also cosponsored it. Him and his Chinese spy girlfriend.
Wonder if Mr. 4980 will be selling his 2 TN rental properties seeing how he's so against US citizens owning property in other States as well.

Interestingly, the ones I know who left... none were on the 717. Fact checked: false.
And I actually know more local pilots who left, than I do transplants.
And I know some who are in a wait and see mode with this supposed Amazon deal and a mainland base.
And I know many more who want to leave but are weighing options and running numbers to justify the hits to pay, seniority, family situations vs. just riding it out for 10 years or so.
