Not surprising given how many we hired less than 24 months ago and the provision in Section 20.

This is incredible! I thought everybody and their sister was bidding for it. How in the world was there vacancy? haha

This is good news for new hire / junior people. Maybe I can bid into 787 straight away when my seatlock is up in 2 years...

Hopefully there will be some tall fences for Alaska merger.

shouldn’t the title be changed to new hire as well meaning one.

Been answered already on Voggers, but read your PWA. Section 20. Nothing to do with your 717 seat lock.

new hire seat lock does not apply to new equipment exemption. 787 vacancy has everything to do with a new hire seat locks. New hire with a seat lock can’t bid new equipment.

I'm not sure what you're even trying to argue. Look up "New Equipment Release".

new hires that are seat locked can’t break their seat lock even for new equipment.

it sounds like you think they can.

I believe they are trying to say that new equipment release is only applicable to pilots that have been on property more than 24 months.

New hire seat lock is 24 months from activation or effective date, and new equipment release is 24 months from day 1 of GS.

yes. I guess there’s a slight difference of a couple of months considering the “seat lock” starts once training is complete and the 24 months on property for new equipment. That 24 months absolutely is why there’s a 787 vacancy on the preview bid award.
