More about banner ads!!
 

I know the website needs an income stream, and we know pilots would never pay to use this (or any) forum site, but...... I'm in Osaka on a layover. I know the web knows all, who I am (computer id), where I'm at, and more annoying, my browsing history... but come on...I I'm getting banner ads for Russian hookers!! :eek: Ok so thats before I logon. It does go away, then its Japanese, something or other (not nearly as interesting!! ). I wish there was a better way :rolleyes:

Ha, maybe they saw your profile thumbnail pic and went from there. ;)

Big brother is always watching...have you tried a VPN?

Thank you so much for bringing this up, and for being such an active user of our Community. It means a lot to me, and the team here.

Allow me to confirm: we don't sell (and we never will) ads like the ones that you claim to be seeing ("banner ads for Russian hookers").

It's most likely a specific user targeting, independently served by the platform that we use to traffic banners (which is DFP, which is Google).

The platform serves the direct ads that we sell *plus* programmatic remnant ads, that are supposed to be filling out the unsold inventory of ads.

If you register and sign up, you'll see fewer ads on the site.
