More about banner ads!!
I know the website needs an income stream, and we know pilots would never pay to use this (or any) forum site, but...... I'm in Osaka on a layover. I know the web knows all, who I am (computer id), where I'm at, and more annoying, my browsing history... but come on...I I'm getting banner ads for Russian hookers!! 
Ok so thats before I logon. It does go away, then its Japanese, something or other (not nearly as interesting!! ). I wish there was a better way

It's most likely a specific user targeting, independently served by the platform that we use to traffic banners (which is DFP, which is Google).
The platform serves the direct ads that we sell *plus* programmatic remnant ads, that are supposed to be filling out the unsold inventory of ads.
If you register and sign up, you'll see fewer ads on the site.
