Default Change Request

I think Airline Pilot Central website should lead the way and consider changing the forum name "Regional" to "Contract Airlines".

Regional airlines are hardly regional anymore. In fact some regional airlines qualify as major airlines. Because of this we now call the big 3 legacy airlines.

Also, I think it would be a good thing for the public to more clearly recognize they are flying with a contractor. It could lead the way to more positive changes in customer service and safety.

My prediction is by 2020, approximately 65% of all domestic US flying will be by "contract airlines".

I think a name change is a good idea and APC could lead the pack and be the first to embrace this change.

Do you know why Legacy Airlines are actually referred to as such? Also do you know that airlines using capacity purchase agreements are currently required by law to disclose "outsourced" segments to passengers?

This is certainly an interesting suggestion. I will pass it along.
