Default India and China

Keep an eye on India and China for some decent contracts. There are so many start-ups in India right now that the airlines are poaching pilots from one another. I just flew with a former Jet Airways pilot who gave me some decent scoop. The start-ups there are looking for experienced 737NG and A320 drivers as well as A340 pilots and in the not too distant future 777 drivers. Pay appears to be in the USD 7000 to 10,000+ range depending on which company and aircraft.

In China I don't have any good intel, but it looks to be opening up more with some Taiwanese having gone over to Sichuan Airlines and the possibility of China Eastern hiring some A330 pilots for a North America base. The Taiwanes are apparently on about USD 6500 plus housing.

Hello TP,
That's not true about the salaries paid to pilots from Taiwan.. Those from Taiwan are only paid USD 3500 plus housing with a promised to be upgraded in 1 year.

Oh, I was quoting what somebody from FAT told me the other day. I assumed that was Captain's pay. If it's $3500 plus housing for F.O. that is pretty decent as long as taxes are taken care of. What does a Transasia F.O. make ? Is it a better deal for them to go to Sichuan ? What are their schedules like ?

TP

P.S. I was only in Taipei for 36 hours, had to come back to work. Have a nice vacation.
