Sample Letter of Rec?
I apologize if I am posting in the wrong forum.
I have been asked to write a letter of recommendation for another pilot. Anyone know where I might find a sample letter of recommendation which is airline pilot specific?
Thanks a lot!

I would simply write a letter "from the gut." Talk in your own words about this individual. How you got to know him or her, what stood out in your time knowing them, their flying skills and professionalism, etc.
For layout and style, check out this letter.
A heartfelt written letter in your own words, proofread by somebody else, will end up being a solid letter of recommendation for your friend.

I agree, writing from a template is spotted from miles away. Why bother?
When I'm asked to write a letter of recomendation, I ask the person I'm writing it for to write it. After their done, I edit, add, and remove content until I'm happy with it and have no problem signing my name to the letter.
This way, all the stuff they've done (or think is important) is covered, and after I'm done with it, it doesn't look like a form letter even if that's how it started.
