Default Allegiant Air Question

How are working conditions at Allegiant Air. It seems like the airline is doing well with a fleet expansion expected in the near future. Hopefully the pay will expand also. What are their hiring minimums? With the $49 an hour pay I doubt they keep many pilots. By the way, does anyone know how much Southwest used to pay it's pilots when they were the lowest payed?

I don't think SW pilots were ever the lowest paid. Profit sharing was always generous. Stock has also made veterans SW pilots rich.

I've heard Allegiant is tuff. Interviews have a heavy focus on union/management issues. No pay during training. A lot of lower timers being hired off in house referals. Plus- any domestic airline that operates out of sanford (KSFB-the kiss of death) has quickly gone out of business. Examples- TMA, Southeast, Clipper. The ramp if full of there rotting jets. As for growth TMA just add a bunch of 757s and seem to be doing allright before they collapsed into Chapter 11. I would highly recomend a more established place.

Default Attrition

Allegiant,

I don't think too many people have been able to move on from there. One of my friends just left Allegiant for SWA. When he was hired by Allegiant two years ago he had to take a 50% cut in pay from his cab driving job, but he did it anyway. Most at Allegiant intend to make a career out of it.

Loudgarret driver,

sorry a little off topic but just curious I used to work for Pan Am or Clipper or BM Airways whatever you call them. I did ramp @ (PSM) for them Aug 04' and then got layed off Oct 04'. tried to work my way up to their J31's they were flying until they layed off their pilots and me. Then tried to go non union. They never recovered. However what I was wondering how may 727's of theirs are down their parked in SFM. I used to load them every morning to go to SFM with over 20,000 lbs of live Maine lobsters. It was interesting while it lasted.
