Check out; http://forums.airlinepilotcentral.co...ead.php?t=1491 , post #14 on page 2. 10 days ago is as current as it gets. Letters of rec., I believe, are not read until the decision board. Basically, any non-minority male, that really wants to work for SWA will have a type. If they run out of typed guys, then things will change. That's what happened in the late '90's when they dropped the requirement to have the type before you could apply.

loudgarrettdriver,

Yes Air Jamaica is my current employer, have been there for 5+years, I don't have an estimate on the upgrade. Things at Air Ja have been shaky but recently improved. The company has brought in another CEO that helped start up America West. He seems like he is on the right track so far, but the possibility exist that the government might shut the airline down if things do not improve within a couple of years. Hope this answered the question.

Regards,
Ian

Or a corporate gig flying a small jet or turboprop. I know a lot of people that took FO jobs early in their career and never upgraded- so now situations like comair- their kinda in the same boat. a lot of total time with minimal PIC.

Who are you currently flying for? the plane in the pic looks like Air Jamaica?
How much longer is your ugrade gonna take?

Do you know Tom, I wouldn't mind getting his contact numbers or email. We sure did fly together, one particular snow storm in PHL comes to mind in 2002. Let me know if you can thanks. My email is [email protected].

Cheers.
