Default 7 Lear 35 pilots needed in Ak!!

Pilots, today in the Anchorage Daily Newspaper was an ad for pilots. The ad read as follows; Executive Flight Inc. is hiring 7 Lear 35 pilots for Ketchikan, Alaska. Start date is 4-1-2006. Contact Steve Bobst @ 509-884-1545

For those who are not familiar with Alaska; Ketchikan is SE Alaska(panhandle) it is closer to SEA than to ANC.

I called the gentlemen about the pilot positions. He said that he wants to hire 4 CA and 3 FO. The schedule is 6 days on 6 days off. Pilots can expect to fly 300 hrs a year. Starting salary for a FO is 35,000 a year plus full benefits(i.e. medical, dental, ect). Pilots get 2weeks paid vacation a year. 3 to 4 year FO's can expect pay of around 55,000. Captains who have been there for 7-10 years make around 80k a year.

requirements:
First Officer- ATP, 100hrs ME

Captain-3000TT, 750ME,100Turbine,ATP

Hope this infor helps

Can you say who the company is? KTN is a cool place if you like the outdoors. The weather is more like a cold Seattle than what you think of Alaska.

Reread the first post. Executive Flight Inc. They do charter flying out of Wenatchee washington and have a medevac service out of Boeing field in seattle. Sounds like they are going to base their medevac pilots in Ketchikan instead of Seattle. I looked into them a few years ago, but didn't meet their minimums at the time, have a better job now, even though it is tempting as Ketchikan is my home town and I have family there. You need to find out if you can spend your 6 days of on call duty at home or if they expect you to sit at the airport... If it's sitting at home that would be really nice, at the airport would be a real drag. Small airport with one jetway, a bar and a hotdog stand/snack bar. And, the airport is on a different island from the town, ferry leaves one side on the :15 and :45, other on the :00 and :30, every fifteen in the middle of summer when Alaska is doing more flights about a 5 minute ferry ride across. Though that could be changing as the world famous pork barrel "Bridge to Nowhere" was proposed to link the town with the airport. Beautiful country, great fishing, but overcast most of the time with 160 or so inches of rain a year. Temperature hangs around 30-45 most of winter with clouds and rain, 45-75 most of summer with clouds, rain and some scattered sunshine.. two weeks without rain and it's an official drought up there!

LAZYB, Sorry that I can not answer that question for you. The gentlemen that I spoke to did not mention first year captain pay. Maybe you could call him and ask him.

Default Hey

NO GOOD,

I use to work for that outfit. They promise the moon and you end up with quite a bit less than they agree too. When I was there they offered me 30K as a Lear and Citation FO I worked 18 days on with 4 off and I was on a 24/7 short leash. The best part is that before I quit I was on track to earn just over 16K my first year. The second year didn't look much better either. They have had large groups of pilots quit. I know a Lear Captain who currently works for them and is earning 42K and he has been there for quite a few years now.
