Just a warning, there is an industrial dispute at Dragonair Cargo involving the introduction of the 400. IFALPA has a recruiting ban on them. See this link... http://www.ifalpa.org/jobs/mar/06IND...ong%20Kong.pdf

I have a couple of questions regarding the ban Phil. The letter is from over a year ago. Also what does HKALPA have to do with DPA. HKALPA sold the 49ers down the river. I delayed my app to Cathay because of the ban and that delay ultimately cost me an opportunity with Cathay. To top it all off, when the 49ers issue was coming to a close the very weak willed HKALPA agreed to allowing the company to hire back the 49ers provided they interview again like everyone else. So the point in all this is why have a damned union if it's not going to protect jobs? Now there is another ban on Dragonair, and once again, it won't amount to anything as the writing is on wall, Cathay has had several different contracts and has hired many pilots under the wholly owned umbrella and the HKALPA has not been able to do anything about it. I trust the same will happen at Dragonair, and nothing can be done about it as well.
Good luck to Dragonair pilots.

Dragon Air is looking to wet lease crews to fly B747s. Dragon Air crews were hoping to transition to the whales. The dispute is a bit deeper than that... but that is a basis of complaint from the Dragon Air crews.

From reading the information, it appears to me that the ban is on for DEC's. The big gripe is with guys getting Capt. slots before current Dragonair pilots. Wondering if I should apply for an fo slot or not.

Why would the current Dragonair pilots want slots for this flying when crew bases will be in the U.S?
