Anyone Know what's going on with Mesaba
I'm keep on hearing they need CRJ drivers. I've looked around bunch of websites, even talk to Molly at chicago's job fair in oct (she seemed interested). Still I'm waiting on an email or a call. I was furloughed from PSA, in their 15% reduction of pilots. I've little over 1200 hours and crj sic rating. One of the guys from my class was hired with much less experience. The told him that they are look for crj drivers. any input?

from people that i have talked to there, they are even hiring people with no experience and around 400 hours tt. they haven't really hired too many people from other airlines, they've kind of mixed it up. i thinks its because they want people that are going to be an fo for a while or they don't want people from other airlines that already have a mindset of the way things should be.

I hope these guys had excellent education, line training, and a jet transition course at least. I never had a jet transition course, but at least I CAN fly an ILS with an engine out. I HAVE been vectored straight into an embedded thuderstorm by ATC. I HAVE had new students try to feather the wrong engine and stomp on the wrong rudder. And I HAVE had real emergencies. I don't claim to be ALL THAT, I am aware of my limitations and am eager to keep learning. But 400 hrs in today's market?

I applied over a month ago nothing yet. I'm furloughed and really looking for any flying gig. I hear though Mesaba is packed with applications and is taking awhile to go down the line, I guess were just be patient.

For what its worth, when i was in training with Mesaba there was a range of people from 600 hours to 2000 hours with and without prior 121 time. I got the feeling that they are just looking for good people that will be fun to work with. As far as how they choose who gets the interview or not i have no idea. Why are we hiring so much? Officially we are getting more 900's. The rumors around the training dept. is that classes are scheduled through April. Of course its all rumors.... good luck all!
