I know it made me furious too. Especially when my husband drives a 94 Ford Taurus and I drive a 01 Dodge Caravan. (Both paid off) Then you pull in to the parking lot of the Medicaid office and see Cadillacs and new cars that you know have at least a $400 car payment each month. I guess if I go take the savings and buy a new car they might accept me into medicaid. LOL!
BTW, I don't know if yall like to follow blogs but I started one today. It is about what we are going through as a family expecting a baby, pilot out of work, etc. You can check it out at Project Cheap Baby |
What about putting the money in a trust. 100% legal. My parents did that with their company (self-employed). With the purpose you described it would make sense too. Also it would keep your children from getting screwed in the event something bad happened.
