DFW Jobs?

Just wondering if anyone knew of any openings in the DFW area. Dh is typed on lear 30's and 55. He has about 5k total time.

He just got laid off today. I am 4 months pregnant. They canceled our ins. too so I am a little freaked out not having any ins. for myself and our kids. I thought that some law was passed recently that prevented them from doing that but I guess not.

thanks, NPW

the law only says they have to offer you a cobra plan.... thru their carrier... YOU bear the cost.......

Sorry to hear. I have been out of work four months.. and many date back well into last year.

Its brutal on this end of the business right now.

Hit the Medicaid office asap. They will take care of your baby and you free.

I have been dealing with Medicaid office since he got laid off. Unfortunately, 2 years ago, I decided for us to live a debt free lifestyle and build a nest egg just in case.
They said we have too much money and can afford to pay for it ourselves. We could but then we would have no way to pay for our house(only debt we have) and utilities while he is unemployed.
I am pretty annoyed with that place.

Put the money under the kids names where you have access and then reapply.

Sorry about the bad news about the lay off.

If you are eligible for Cobra, government will cover 65% of the cost for up to nine months.

Both me and wifey are out of jobs too (in DFW area), and I can only imagine the feeling of expecting a baby under these circumstances.

Good luck.

Million Air @ Addison is looking for pilots.

Things are getting bad around DFW.. Simuflite is laying of lots of sim instructors, who were instructing there since they couldn't find flying jobs in the area..

Where do you get your info that Million Air is hiring? DH spoke to them last week and they were not hiring. Not only that they told him they get 800 resumes a week from out of work pilots.

We have a friend at CAE that his hours were cut.

As far as the Cobra, even with the gov paying some it would be cheaper for us to hire a midwife and have the baby at a birthing center paying cash. Our ins sucked before but now that we have to pay more it is too ridiculous to bother with.

As far as hiding the money, we are not going to do that and then end up in jail. It would be too obvious that we hid money if I did that and reapplied.

We are going through an appeal process to get the pregnancy medicaid but by the time that happens I will probably already had the baby and it will be in college. LOL!

Thanks for the input!

The closest thing to a flying job in DFW is working as a lineman. I did that for a couple of months just to keep my ear to the street. I'd still be doing that now but I'm exploring other avenues... internationally (and that's not going well either but it beats the heat of Texas this summer).

Good luck :o
