I applied over a year ago. I am retired military, 5500TT, 3000PIC. I am typed and have time in DC9, B737, and CE525. I was a squadron CO managing up to 350 folks and have experience in HR, a/c purchasing and many other things on my resume. I also have a masters from ERAU with a 3.9GPA. I update about every 3 months.

Not a peep from them.

Good stuff. Someone needs to lighten things up now and again. I spoke with two VA guys last month that said the company is looking for people from all backgrounds and experience. It sounds more of a personality that they're going to be looking for rather than how many type ratings you can slap on paper. With the number of qualified apps that are out there, I'm not losing sleep over why or why not VA calls. Good luck, we're going to need it.

Is there any reason to think the posted min's of 5000 total, and 1000 PIC Turb. would be negotiable? They do seem awfully high for the pay; I mean, compared to say, JetBlue, who pays more and has lower hiring min's. Or say, Allegiant, who doesn't pay much less I think.

Alternatively, they could probably make it 10,000 and 3,000 respectively in this job climate, and still have plenty of applicants.

I would say under current market it will take more that published min unless you have several internal rec's and or Check airman Instructor time.

I know at allegiant it takes a lot more experiance than mins to get called when we do call.
