Default corporate guy considering 121

I've been a corporate guy flying Learjets for the past 7 years, the last three as captain. I've had enough of the 135 world and am considering the 121 world. Seeking a better QOL as 135 is the worst and good part 91 jobs are scarce.

3800 TT, 2700 ME turbine, 700 PIC turbine

Any thoughts on where to start cracking into the 121 world?

I am in the same boat as you only I have been trying to find a job for almost a year I was flying corporate 91 and 135 for 10yrs in Citations, Looks like I am going to have to go to a regional airline because like you I have a average resume 4800TT with 4000 turbine/Jet time and 2 type ratings and I have not got any calls from any Major's so I figure I will sacrifice QOL and pay just so I can get some needed 121 time and hopefully I will get a call from a major... Good luck to you..

Without 1000 turbine PIC your chances of a 121 job outside of the regionals is essentially nil. I'd do everything I could to get that 1000. While you're working toward it, apply to the "second/third tier" national airlines that fly larger equipment and see if you get any nibbles.

I have 6400 TT 2500PIC Jet 5200 total Jet/Tprop and I still haven't even heard a peep. Apps with Delta, JB, Atlas and FedEx. I even keep going to those peske job fairs. Maybe it's my funny looking face that keeps me out of the 121 world or maybe my sparkling personality either way I can't wait to get out of the 135 world. I know the grass always seems greener but I am sick of sitting in dark brown grass (o wait maybe that's not grass), It is still better then working for a living.

For me: 7,300 TT and 2,100 TPIC and have heard nothing from a major yet. Used to fly P.135 but now fly P.91 Corporate.

1000 PIC jet will not get you any jobs in majors - connections and recommendations will.
There are plenty of CA in 121 regionals with 3K PIC jet waiting to get out, so the competition is high. I have over 12K with 6K PIC of mixed military and 121. The only interviews I got was through my friends recommendations. Waiting for the class in one of them. good luck.

I hate to say it, but that seems to be the truth. Lot's of experience under the wrong set of "standards"? Best of luck.

I just switched from the 135/91 side of things with about 4000 hours and a Citation type rating. It was suprising who called and who didn't. I never heard from Eagle or Skywest, but got a call within 8 hours of submiting my app with Pinnacle, and a few days from submission with Compass.
