JetBlue Interview Format
#1
Gang,
I know the general style of the interview at B6 is behavioral and the questions come in a TMATW format. Can anyone tell me about the breakdown of the questions? How many total and how much of each roughly? (Stress, conflict, save the day, etc,.) Finally, how long does the whole thing last and who conducts it? How long is the exit interview and who conducts it?
Thanks a million.

The first thing that you do when you show up is check in with the front desk on the first floor. From there you will be given a urinalysis and be fingerprinted. You go upstairs and check in with usually one of two ladies who collect your required paperwork/logbooks.
Once checked in you have a seat in a big room with some other candidates and there will likely be the system chief pilot as well as maybe a few base chiefs who will talk about the company as well as answer any questions you have. They are not critiquing you or anything you say although if you say or do something crazy I wouldnt doubt it would do you any favors.
Someone will come in and call out a name, if it is yours you will follow them back to a larger room with a few long rows of tables. There will be a few interviews going on at the same time but in separate groups and the room is large enough they will not be a distraction to you and likewise you to them. You will interview with a pilot as well as likely someone from the people department. You will get a few basic questions and some small talk while they get set up and introduce themselves as well as you to them. You will be asked 5 (im pretty sure of this) questions that will be TMAAT. There is a very specific way they want these answered which you should know by now. Once all done (45 minutes to an hour or so) you will be walked back to the big room again with the other folks.
You will be called out again for an exit interview. This is with someone from the people department or talent department as well as likely a system chief. They will ask you a few questions such as training failures or hiccups as well as your availability. They will also likely give you an out to explain anything that may show up on your record, if you havent told them yet now would be a fantastic time to do so. Quick and easy and a nice chat with the two.
After this you are all done and told you can leave if youd like or hang out and talk with the others and head out when you feel comfortable. It is unlikely at any point if you will have any indication on how you did as it is such a laid back experience. They will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and relaxed.
In 7 days or less you get an email if you are in phase II or a fedex letter if you did not make it.

Usmc - thank you so much for such a thorough post. That was exactly what I was looking for and needed. I'm heading up there on the 14th and really hope it goes well. With your help and insight it just might! I'm studying and preparing real hard so here goes nothing! Thanks again.

Best interview prep out there for aviation interviews. If you have a FedEx, SWA, JetBlue, or Delta interview this will be the best $$$ you will ever spend if you really want the job. Top notch guy running the place who really knows his stuff. I got a JetBlue job and a Delta job and credit alot of that success to what I learned in the interview prep.

I second the emerald coast interviewing consulting group. They got me to think of the interview in a different way. Really brought my answers and way of thinking up a few notches. Polished my stories and was able to give them the full answers to what they (interviewers) were asking. If you dont answer them completely ,and they have questions, its not a big deal they were very good about getting the info they needed. Very good experience, prepare, relax, enjoy! Good luck

I think they want the questions to be as detailed as possible. If you remember crew members names, etc, that can't hurt. Good luck to all!

I second the opinion on Emerald Coast, Aaron and his team do a great job. You will enter the interview prepared, not rehearsed. You would be surprised at some of the "ah ha" moments you get during the interview prep. Tiny tweaks and adjustments as well as which of your stories to choose that could potentially make or break an interview. And....its a money back guarantee if you do not make phase II...you have nothing to lose.

I was consulted by several colleagues to use Emerald Coast to prep for the B6. In the end I decided to not use the Prep Course and that the keys to success to landing the job:
1) Be Yourself during the interview
2) Study the TMAAT questions
3) Read Blue Streak & Flying High
These proved me right! The interview was the most relaxed I have ever experienced!
Good Luck!
