Career Fair Info
Having never been to a pilot career fair but considering going to one, besides resumes, cover letters and LORs, what should a person take to one? Any need to take logbooks or anything else along that line?
Thanks,
DK

A couple of things to remember for the job fair:
1- Come with a positive attitude. This is the best advice I can give you. It will show when you interact with the recruiter.
2- Do research on the company you are targeting. Know airplane types, crew bases, some financial information and history of the company.
3- Apply online for the pilot position you are seeking. Many recruiters will be looking at your online application at the job fair. Make sure it is perfect.
4- Your resume needs to be up to date and check your spelling. Make sure it is printed on resume paper, not copier paper.
5- Logbooks are not needed unless an airline is doing onsite interviews.

I used to take personal business cards. They weren't super fancy, but didn't look cheap either! A big part of these job fairs is also networking. A business cards that looks sharp and have your basic personal contact info (name, email, cell, etc) can go a long ways as well.

I used to take personal business cards that I'd do myself. They weren't super fancy, but didn't look cheap either! A big part of these job fairs is networking, so having a business card with your basic contact info (name, cell, email, etc) can go a long way. A lot of people will hand you theirs as well. Good luck! Oh, and as already posted, attitude is huge! Look professional (suit & tie) and be really sociable and positive.
