That is because they give you your ATP and type on initial.

So, how long is it typically from the time you get the empoyment offer before you show up for training?

love2av8 11-12-2012 10:18 AM

Usually a couple weeks because the review board has to approve the newbies. So it just depends on how often they are meeting and when you happen to interview.

Thanks, I have an offer to interview, but not in a position to leave my current employer until January 1st. I would not want to show up and interview in a few weeks and be expected to be available in only a couple weeks.

Any updates here? Interviews, projected hiring, etc...

Thanks

Still interviewing. Only a trickle of new hires coming in.
Pretty sure they still want 400 next year.
Looks like some of our guys with AA numbers will be starting to go early next year so let the movement begin!!!
At least that's the hope!

I would say "au contraire". But I am sure I am a rare case! If you worked as a pilot for hire, you have to submit a PRIA form (Pilot Records Improvement Act Of 1996). My preceding employer held onto my PRIA form for 30days and faxed it on the last day (the deadline day) because he wanted to screw me. SO my report date for training was deferred and deferred and deferred every week until they received my PRIA form. I hope that doesnt happen to anyone, but AE HR can't send you to day 1 until your packet is complete.

I've heard of horror stories like that, I can't believe that some people would do that.

For the person asking, I interviewed on a monday. They faxed the PRIA forms to my current employer in front of me. By the time I was on the flight home, my employer already faxed them back. By that friday I got a call saying I passed the review board. I was sitting in class a week and a half later. So just over 2 weeks basically from interview to "start-the-fire-hose."

I interviewed two one week ago. There were three other people in my group. Got a pre-offer that day.

If anyone is still interested, an e-mail has been sent out to almost anyone who has an account at airlineapps.com. Looks like they are pretty desperate but might hire a batch of people this year.
