Default ExpressJet Pool

Have any recent ExpressJet interviewees been successfully tossed into their "pilot pool"? More importantly does anyone know what it takes to get out of the pool and into a class date? It appears their hiring has been steadily on the decline throughout this year.

Hiring has stopped on the ERJ side. They are still running classes on the CRJ side.

Why would one go to a (mostly) all 50 seat operation with renewing 2 year contracts only and nothing longterm?

Because not everyone is willing to be paid and treated like crap just for the hope of a fast upgrade into SJS. Those folk go to Mesa or PSA

I did an interview first week of May, took a week to get back to me and told me I was put into the pool. A week later they called and offered me June 23rd crj class. I have 2100 TT 100 MEL

I was afraid that would be the kind of time required to be competitive. I interviewed on June 4th and was put in the pool a week later, but with only having 1075 TT and less than 50 ME, I doubt I'll get a call anytime soon.

im sure there are certain circumstances. The email they sent me said they dont look at just time but also your test results and how well your overall interview went. with that low amount of time you will have to be able to get a restricted ATP. So if you still dont meet those requirements i wouldnt worry about being placed in a pool right now.

I qualify for the R-ATP already. I'm a little short on multi time, but they said there would be no problem making it up during training.

During the interview they brushed off questions about having to park their 50 seaters by mentioning SkyWest Inc's purchases of new 175's, but I'm fairly certain ExpressJet isn't going to see a single one of those.
Hopefully attrition will pick back up in the Fall.
