letter from the chief last week state that they plan on hiring through march. roughly 18 FO's per class for all three airplanes. We are so short on on Q200 pilots.

What will happen to the 200 pilots when they get rid of the 200s? Transition to the 400? Or will some go to the jet?

How long is reserve these days at Horizon? Are the CRJ-700s only based in PDX?

I would assume the 200 pilots will go to both the 400 and CRJ based on where they need pilots at that time. CRJ's are only based at PDX.

Default No Q200 Newhires

The letter from the CP did not indicate that new hire pilots would be placed in the Q200. Those extra slots in the November class are Q400 to make up for the upgrades from Q400 FO to Q200 CA. Q200 FOs are being bypassed for upgrade as the company attempts to avoid hiring anyone into the Q200.

Current Q200 FOs will probably end up in both the Q400 and CRJ when the aircraft goes away. I expect a letter similar to the SEA Q200 base closure. It allowed FOs to permanent bid for the Q400 in SEA without taking the pay cut, however the one year seat lock still applied. After that is completed, the reduction section of the CBA will most likely come into effect, and FOs will be forced off the Q200 in inverse seniority. Which aircraft the Q200 FOs go to will be based on their reduction bid and what their seniority can hold.

Right now there are 12 New Hire slots for the Q400 on 11/12/07. On 10/16/07 (two days ago) New Hire GS started for 6 CRJ FOs and 5 Q400 FOs. I don't think we've hired into the Q200 since Jan. of this year.

There will be four new hires in the Q2. I was in the sim and the instructor said that there will be four for the Q200. At least we're getting some relief...

Do folks with previous 121 experience stand a good chance in getting an interview/getting the job? Are they harder on you during the interview, compared to someone w/o previous 121 experience?
