Interview Format: A board of 4 (CP, HR, Dir. Of Trng, Dir of Ops)
Interview Questions: Why WGA; What is V1: What is Coffin Corner; Current flying experience, Accidents/Incidents, Training Failures, Check ride failures.
General Impression of Interview/Comments:
The interview process was essentially separated into two parts. I initially completed a “screening interview” to ensure that I meet the basic requirements, why I was interested in WGA, and if I was aware of what type of equipment that WGA flew, and if I preferred either aircraft. Also discussed were the schedule, pay and benefits, and the crew base locations (Home based) to include an international base in Amsterdam. The screening phone interview lasted approximately 15-20 minutes.
I was then scheduled for an online interview on ZOOM for a week later. The video interview was with the Director of HR the Chief Pilot, the director of Training, and Director of Operations. The video interview was approximately 40 minutes long and again, discussed my resume, current flying experience, training failures, medical status, why I left my last flying position, any accidents, or incidents, two technical questions (What is the Coffin Corner and what is V1 speed), and aircraft experience. Other topics included the work schedule of either a 17- or 20-day rotation, pay, benefits, training schedule and if I was OK with flying into specific locations such as China, the ME, and locations with potential hostilities. The entire event passed very quickly and was a non-threatening event with an educational stent leaning towards who WGA is what type of company and potential it has. I was instructed that I will receive notification as to an offer in a week.
