crew services

Someone mentioned crew services on the SWA thread and I thought it might be good to share some learning points. I have found many of the crew schedulers to be new and not up to speed on the "rules of the game"
On reserve I flew a redeye home and was; after rest, put back on reserve that same day. after reading the FSG I saw that I was due either a day off or 4:12 pay for that. Called CS and they didn't believe it so I emailed CSMgt and they agreed and awarded the day off. Then went back into crewmenu and found I had the same thing happen in an earlier month. CS gave me 4:12hr retro for that. I then emailed the story to others in the class and 2 found the same situation and got the back credit. Oh well, hurt my own profit sharing :-)

Small correction:
Not "rules". Guidelines.
We have to go by the guidlines. CS follows guidelines, "When they can".

Maybe "when they can" is the problem. If you think that CS is not following the "Guidelines" send the values committee an email. They want to hear about everything so they can see what the trends are.

Or just tell them, "No, I'm not doing that."
It worked for me.

I have told the values committee face-to-face of similar events. More than one member present.
Their jaws dropped. They were aghast. Don't remember any change...

Japa

Maybe it is time for a frank, intelligent conversation about JAPA (jetBlue Airways Pilots Association).

Maybe......

Not disagreeing with you, but in light of the two Ch. 11 filings a couple of days ago, I think our position would be pretty weak... :(

Just an idea..... Skywest has a group called the Skywest pilots association that is NOT a union but does represent the pilots to the company. It is comparable to the values committee but with a little more bite. Any old skywest people here that have a little more knowledge?
