Yeah, but do you have cleaning experience? Ever been a professional aircraft cabin janitor?
If not, you're not qualified. |

Live in or near a Jetblue base and you will already have a leg up and don't mind being compensated 35% less than every other major airline because we have culture and other cool buzzwords

depends on your gender. human females have received CJO's at 1900TT, 2300TT, or as soon as they reach 1,000 Part 121 but for human males, you usually get looked at around 3,700-4,000 TT.

I hate to say it, but consider yourself lucky. Aside from a lot of people I met there, it was 7 years of my life I’d like back. It’s not the same company it used to be.

Are you happy with table scraps?
Are you happy just to have a job? Do you have something on your record that keeps you from getting employed somewhere else? Are you so beat down that you will learn to love your servitude? Then you may just be BJ material. This communique is for entertainment purposes only. It does not implicitly or explicitly acknowledge employment with any air carrier nor is any relationship implied. Where did you go after 7 years? I left for SWA after only 2 years.

FedEx. Love it! (And it’s literally only a 1-year pay cut from my CA position at JB, what does that say about JB compensation?) Congrats on Southwest!

I’m not going to suffer a pay cut at all going to SWA. FDX is the only app I’ll be updating from now on. If I never get that call, I’ll still retire a happy man. Congrats to you!

Slimothy, I think that we were in the same class at JetBlue. I am trying my hardest to leave as well. Goodluck at Southwest!

Could anyone who lives on the West coast of FL and commutes to JFK please PM me? Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Tampa, Ft. Myers. Particularly Ft. Myers.
Thanks in advance. |

This place does not take care about their work groups and especially hate the pilot group. We are too far away from a CBA for me to endorse this job. Even the juicers are fed up. |

This^^ if you get the call here, grab the type and keep your resumes up to date. Then leave as SOON AS YOU CAN.

Even the juicers are fed up. “If it’s so bad....why don’t you leave?” Believe me....I’m trying. Most of us FO's are trying. Look....I get it. I worked for a failing regional and understand why someone needs a job......any job. But understand that you will be distracted (during our pathetic minimalist training) and will lose focus on the prize. Getting to a well paying successful major with good prospects for the future. THAT is your goal. Why would anyone come here?. There were NO POSTS warning me when I applied here. NONE WHATSOEVER . If I saw them I would give serious thought to wasting ANY time at this place. |

These are not the words of one disgruntled pilot. I would bet 80-90% of this group would leave tomorrow. Unless they have a business.

We have pathetic minimalist training? No doubt we have issues—-)(lots)(—but the training? I kind of liked not having stacks and stacks of note cards and a defined oral that wasn’t left up to the examiner to ask how many steps are on the crj pax door...I think 7 but I just said I wasn’t on weight watchers so I don’t count steps. My only issue was they didn’t leave much room if you did need to repeat a lesson and that totally messed up the schedule. I thought training was fair and laid back but I’m on the 190 the bus guys always seemed more stressed, if you want the full experience I think(could be wrong) SWA does it old school no AQP. As for 80 to 90% seems a bit high but this is APC world so I won’t question that number. :) |

OK.....I admit I got caught up in the moment and overestimated.....sorry You are correct....it probably is more around 50% I wonder how close to that number Delta is at? I’ll stop asking why on earth anybody would come here if nobody else asks why I don’t leave. Just tired of this 💩 .............maybe it’s why we have the highest suicide rate in the industry. |

The training at JB is fine. 190 or 320 its the same. Low threat and desire to have everyone to succeed.
Everyone here is getting disgruntled because we're getting worked in this CBA negotiation. The suck factor is high when everyone is now getting paid more than the JB pilot group. There won't be a ton of positive news out of this pilot group until a CBA deal is done. If we go into the summer without a CBA then its going to be a very negative place to be and get information from. I think that you have a group that can see and compare the compensation packages and the corporate atmosphere of growth and strategic planning, of other professional pilots flying the same equipment and routes to whats happening now at JB. Its not an equitable relationship. If you take the fact that JB pilots were pretty proud of the JB product and how things were going in terms of professional support on the line (compensation, staffing, management) and then look at how the corporate culture has refused to engage the group in a market rate CBA, leaving hiring and upgrades at the wayside and raking in $BILLIONS of profits there is now quite a bit of anxiety and anger in what our futures will be at JB. Now. Rewind the clock to 2010 and you have ALL the Legacies rounding out a decade of paralysis. Concessionary contracts, lost pensions and furloughs rounding out the total package. They really sucked. Well, times have changed and JB now has to meet the road. They've never had to do that before. But here's the good news. They can afford ALL of it. The pilot contract will increase non unit fuel costs by about 1%. Look at Spirit. JB corporate management is being a problem on purpose. But they've got Wall Street watching and I think the BOD is about had enough of the games. But RH and WC can claim victory. There won't be a deal before July and thats 6 more months of labor cost savings. Congrats guys! -Bubs |
Agreed. I've been in 4 different airline training environments and JB's is the best. It is non threatening, and teaches you what you needs to know without trying to bog you down with the crap you don't need to know. We can complain about a lot of things, but JB training is fantastic.

Just look at the politics you listen to, the Russians the Russians, they want all of our guns, they want to kill every baby, for us or against us. No doubt people will leave and obviously unless they are going to Fedex or are doing what they did in the 90s jumping from one major to another few are leaving Delta (if any) Everyone is ready for that CBA man we just have to see it through and stay rational. |

AQP for recurrent, not for initial. They are still putting the program together for initial. At least, that’s what they told us yesterday during Indoc, so this info may have changed in the last 36 hours.

Do you guys think that a new hire today would be better off at Spirit or jetblue ?
Pay rates are not that far apart. Although some items are notably better at Spirit with the new contract, i.e. 10-15% DC to 401K, scheduling etc.. But whenever JetBlue gets their new contract, is it not likely be better than the new spirit contract? Any other negatives about B6 that are not obvious on the surface when comparing them to spirit and other low cost carriers? jetBlue is certainly a more respected carrier by the public than Spirit and Frontier. In relation to basing, how long before a new hire could expect to hold FLL or MCO, and which aircraft would get a new-hire to those bases the quickest? |

FLL is possibly within a year on the bus I believe.. MCO is right around 2 on the 190 and at least 4 or more on the bus. If Spirit still plans a lot of growth I would go there. B6 will be in negotiations for a lot longer. Until we have a contract, commuting to reserve can be miserable and first year pay here is demeaning at best. |
Well it’s not 10k hrs and two type ratings... I can tell you that much.
 |
