Yet we are still single.

That's because JB is so beautiful that the real airlines are too intimidated to approach such a beauty.

So...when JetBlue breaks under $10 a share do we think merger will become inevitable? We could actually see that number tomorrow.

As far as a specific price being a trigger, if you're thinking a hostile takeover, you might have a point.

Any of the more traditional moves another company might make require approval by the JB Board of Directors.

The JB BOD will have to agree, and they would NOT value JB at anything close to the current stock price in any transaction. The BOD would be looking at value estimates for 1-2+ years in the future, unless the company was close to collapse.

I don’t think any airline is any place regardless of cash to go out and buy anyone. I think they are all hoping to just return to status quo by June.

This will definitely shake the landscape up. Although, the time frame is probably 4-5 years down the road. Whichever airlines come out of this in the best financial shape will most likely thin out the herd.

What was with today’s market close. All the airlines rose the last 30 minute wave upward with most closing 6-14 % higher but JetBlue down 2.7%. Anyone hearing anything? There is normally some narrative to go along with a stock bucking an industry trend.
